I have an addiction that is bordering on unhealthy. pretty soon I will have to snort straight wasabi powder to get the rush I need.
Found Hapi brand wasabi peas at walmart of all places. please don't ask what I was doing there.

Fri, December 26, 2003 - 10:32 AMwhere do you live evil larry?
I dont have a hard time finding wasabi peas, but I did think it was wierd to see them in walmart simply because they only carry the most vanilla of food choices. does this somehow signal some sort of cultural shift? do the shelves at walmart reflect the core set of beliefs of "middle america"?

Re: wasabi peas
Thu, January 8, 2004 - 10:00 AMMy Brother moved to the East Coast (of the US) and quickly sent me email begging for Wasabi Pea care packages. What a frightening thing to have happen! Now I have to spead out the location where I buy them in case they start thinking that I'm breeding some sort of monkey army ...

Re: wasabi peas
Tue, February 17, 2004 - 9:47 PMobsession?
nah!
everytime I cruise by the asian grocery store here in south carolina, i end up buy them out of kasugai brand roasted green peas.
i find that brand is better roasted -- fewer peas end up like rocks!
the wasabi peas are a hit with a number of people i work with. and also a number of people stay away from it.
my only concern is that when i open a big i end up eating the whole bag.
there's so much m.s.g. it gives me the jitters. -

Re: wasabi peas
Thu, August 26, 2004 - 2:29 PMI recommend the following:
1. you can buy a can of wasabi powder and sprinkle it over your bag of wasabi peas. adjust to acheive the desired level of hotness.
2. get a tub of prepared wasabi, squeeze it onto the peas as you eat them, or...
3. slather prepared wasabi onto the peas and then dust them with wasabi powder. OUCH. that makes my sinuses SINGE with delight! -
